Here is a poem 11 year old Kitty wrote, we loved it so much we wanted to share it. You can hear her recite it below.
It was a cool night when I was woken by a cry, it was quiet confusing so I wondered why.
I had no children of my own and no neighbours you see, so something like this had never happened to me.
I got out of bed and walked to the door, then the crying stopped so I was not sure.
But still I opened it and to my surprise, what appeared to be a little child blinking it’s eyes.
I looked around for it’s mother, or at least any other, but there was no one around, so I just looked down.
Suddenly I jumped back in fright, because it seemed in my sight, the baby had wings, never had I seen such things as wings on a child such as this blessed young thing.
What should I do I can not leave it here, but If I take it…., oh! is this a dream?
But I took this young fairy into my house, and it fell asleep quiet as a mouse.
So out there somewhere, is a fairy mother I swear. I never knew that fairies existed, but now I am very insistent!
Well done, Kitty! What a magic story you have told. You have a wonderful talent with words. Keep up the good work. You are all having an amazing adventure and making lots of lifelong memories. Love you all.
Thanks so much for your kind words Didi. She has always loved writing, this little number was Shirley Barber inspired. We all love you too.
